Playsafer Tile Installation Instructions:
Step 1: Subsurface Preparation
The easiest way for the tiles to be installed is over hard surfaces such as asphalt, concrete or existing patio stone. Installation can also be done on 4'' of well compacted stone, ranging from 3/4'', to dust.When installing over stone, we recommend laying down a landscape fabric roll prior to installing the tiles. Overlap the fabric by 3'', and use strong tape or anchors to hold the fabric down in place.

Step 3: Installing The Tiles
Once the subsurface has been prepared, its time for the playground tile installation. Begin by installing the first row of tiles along the longest straight edge of the area. Place the tiles in a way that ensures that the interlocking pin holes are positioned to connect to the next row of tiles.After inserting the connector pins to the first row of tiles, apply a 1/2 diameter continuous line of adhesive between each tile. The adhesive should be applied approx half way down the tile edge.Continue installing the rows of tiles while making sure all the pins are connected, each tile has the adhesives, and all the tiles should be as tight and close as possible. Generally a light kicking motion or the use of a small mallet will be enough to force the tiles tight against each other.If adhesive happens to squeeze out from the tile edges, AVOID wiping the wet adhesive off the tiles. Rather, its better to scrape it off with a razor the following day once it dries.
Step 4: Measuring and Cutting
When coming up to a wall or another obstacle that needs to be cut around, use your measuring tool to measure the distance between the wall or obstacle and the last (closest) placed tile.Taking measurements every 6''-8'' along the wall, will generally provide the best fit. After transferring the measurements onto the tile itself, connect the measurements using a flexible straight edge and marker.Once the tile has been measured and marked, use your straight edge and razor knife to make a score along the cut line. After scoring the tile, place it over a table or another elevated stable surface in order to open the score line.Once the score line has been opened, simply make additional passes with the razor knife through the tile.
Can this surface be installed over a flat roof surface and is porous enough for water to drain both on top and underneath? Also how does it hold up to High altitude sunlight 5000 semi arid front range Colorado? Can it be consider and exterior floating floor.
Playsafer Tiles are a great option for roof flooring. The grooved bottom will allow water to flow underneath the tiles.
